Breathlessly exciting, Stomp is an extremely welcome off Broadway feature. An exceptionally talented cast produce the most incredible noise you’re likely to ever hear, and see on a stage. Follow STOMP’s national calendar, and be sure to check out Broadway at the Fox’s schedule of events.Unique in its sheer ingenuity and rhythmic choreography, Stomp is the pulsating live stage show where the performers are the instruments. STOMP is one of many amazing productions planned for 2023. Broadway at the Fox seems to be answering our call. Stomp is a high-energy, percussive symphony, coupled with dance, played entirely on non-traditional instruments, such as garbage can lids, buckets, brooms, and sticks. Never has the value of live entertainment been more appreciated than a world reopened. STOMP’s long history of performances has helped to build its brand as one of the most widely recognized in the world. The production has appeared in various TV, movies, HBO specials and prestigious ceremonies including the closing ceremonies of two years of the Olympic games. STOMP continues to tour the world with UK and US based troupes. When the literal stage is one of your instruments, the quality absolutely matters. With its iconic examples of art deco architecture, the STOMP cast seemed very at home on this distinguished theater’s old stage. Few venues have been shown the tinder loving care that the Fox PAC has been given. In the early 2000’s the Fox was part of a $1.6 billion Renaissance initiative in Riverside, California. The FOX PAC is managed by Live Nation, a global giant in the entertainment space and the management for some of the most well known venues in the U.S. Not quite as old as the former home of the STOMP troupe, the FOX Performing Arts Center seemed a perfect venue as it has for so many other brilliant performances. The rich flavor of the alternative resonance combined with provocative street style theatre is an unimagined recipe for delight. With such a long and extensive history, it is no wonder that STOMP has such a profound effect upon audiences. STOMP uses unconventional objects as percussion instruments to create complex rhythms and polyrhythms. Percussive instruments are broadly found in music from, ancient cultures to todays Western, Rock, Jazz, R&B and Hip Hop. Percussion dates back to around 6000 BCE and has been deeply rooted in communication, religious ceremony and music. The Broadway at the Fox, partnership, is proudly offering this highly immersive production. This current iteration of STOMP recently closed a 29 year performance engagement at the Orpheum Theatre, in New York City and is touring nationally. A high-intensity dance performance known as STOMP, or “Street Theater of Movement and Percussion,” first appeared in the UK in the early 1990s.
